REQUEST A MAV VISIT TO YOUR SCHOOL

Dear teachers If you’ve heard about Medics Against Violence and work in a Scottish school and you’d like us to visit you can sign up on the form below. The programme is aimed at S2 but if there is another class you would like us to visit please let us know. We currently work mainly in the West of Scotland but are expanding to other areas so even if your school is out with this area please still sign in and when we start visiting your area we will get in touch

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• We need 6 week’s notice to arrange a visit
• We prefer to present to classes of no more than 30 pupils as our lesson plan involves some group work, however we have done presentations to larger groups with help from teaching staff within the schools.
• Our lesson involves a DVD so the classroom needs to have facilities to allow us to play and listen to the DVD
• The lesson plan lasts approximately 50 minutes including DVD (18minutes)
• All of our members are volunteers and take time out from their busy jobs to present the MAV programme, many prefer to present to two classes back to back in each school to get the most out of their time. If this is possible in your school please let us know.
• We have developed a list of various additional activities which can be undertaken with the class after our visit, these are available on the website as a project list. We are happy to return to the school to see the results of the pupils’ efforts and have a further discussion. If you would like us to do this please let us know on the form.
